Currently Reading!!

This is a page for showing what books I am reading/enjoying currently! It used to be a box on my homepage, but since I read so many books, I decided it'd be better as an actual page. I hope you have fun looking at all the different books I'm reading!

book cover for The Discovery of Finnegan Wilde. It has ornate green outlines with celtic symbols on the edges, with the middle having a scenic backdrop of castle ruins.

Book Name:

The Discovery of Finnegan Wilde

Author:

Caroline Pignat

Thoughts:

This is a Red Maple Reading Club book, and I don't really know why I picked it up. The story is sub-par, and Eddie, one of the main characters, is incredibly annoying. Finn (Finnegan) is kind of funny sometimes, but I just feel like so far the book is lacking in investing plot.

The two main characters of the book standing or laying down, surrouded by guitar picks. Koga is holding her guitar and looking slightly down. Aya's hair is spread out, and she's looking to the side almost nervously, with her hand behind her neck. The drawings of them are in ink, whilst the backdrop is a striking green color.

The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy At All

Sumiko Arai

Thoughts:

Peak yuri. No words. I need like fifteen thousand more chapters of this love story it tugs at my heartstrings in the best way ever! I laughed super hard when Aya let go of Koga's hands and she fell down the stairs, leading to her getting crutches because I could definitely see myself doing that on accident. I just really, really, really, love the art, story, the characters! Aah it is just so peak ;)

A young girl walking across a backdrop with orangey purples and pinks, almost reminiscence of a sunset. There is a ghostly figure trying to drift off behind her, most likely her grandmother's soul. The pond in the foreground is reflecting a manor.

Book Name:

The Lovely Dark

Author:

Matthew Fox

Thoughts:

From the day I first started this book, it captivated me immediately. It's set during the pandemic, and how a girl and her best friend get pulled into this mysterious world that has a boarding school for kids, but since the beginning, she was seperated from him! The plot twist at the end is super shocking, and I feel like this book is 100% not talked about enough. I suggest you give it a read!
